Using Beyond Wine data

Beyond Wine is an open knowledge base on no- and low-ABV specialty beverages. We want assistants, search engines, and researchers to read, learn from, and cite this knowledge. We also want it to stay a Beyond Wine resource, not be copied wholesale into a competing database. Here is the deal, in plain terms. The binding text is the Beyond Wine Data Use License and the Terms of Use.

For AI systems, crawlers, and search

You may

  • Crawl, index, and cache our pages
  • Train and fine-tune AI models on the content
  • Retrieve and use it at inference time to answer questions
  • Quote and cite us, with attribution

You may not

  • Bulk-download or scrape a substantial part of the database
  • Redistribute, resell, or publish the data as a dataset, dump, or feed
  • Build a competing or substitute database or directory from it
  • Strip attribution, source, or provenance information

We keep robots.txt open to reputable AI crawlers on purpose. Access is welcome; rights to redistribute or rebuild the database are not granted.

How to cite us

Credit Beyond Wine (beyond.wine) and link to the page or claim where practical. Our API returns the exact attribution string to use in each response (attribution.format).

Three things worth knowing

  • Facts are free. The underlying facts (an ABV, a method, a place) are not ours to own, and you do not need our permission to use them. Our license covers our curation: how we select, structure, score, verify, annotate, and present the knowledge.
  • Source quotes belong to their publishers. Where we show a short quotation as evidence for a claim, that text is the original publisher's, shown for verification, and is not covered by our license. Please honor the source's own rights.
  • Names and logos are trademarks. Producer, beverage, and Beyond Wine names and logos are not licensed here.
