Beyond Wine Terms of Use

Version 1.0 — effective 2026-05-29

1. Acceptance

  • Website and public pages. By accessing beyond.wine or app.beyond.wine, you agree to these Terms and to the Beyond Wine Data Use License (the “License”), incorporated by reference.
  • Direct API (/api/llm/*, /api/v2/*). To call the API you must register, obtain an API key, and accept these Terms and the License. Acceptance is recorded against your key. Continued use after a new version takes effect constitutes acceptance of that version; if you do not accept, stop using the API.
  • MCP server. The Beyond Wine MCP server operates under a single operator key rather than per-client registration. The operator of an MCP deployment (Beyond Wine, or any third party authorized to run it) accepts these Terms and the License when the operator key is issued, and must surface these Terms to, and flow their restrictions down onto, its end users. End users of an MCP deployment are bound through the operator.

2. The License governs reuse

Your rights to access, train on, retrieve, quote, and cite the Licensed Material — and the limits on bulk extraction, redistribution, and competing datasets — are set by the License. These Terms add operational rules and the acceptance mechanism; if these Terms and the License conflict on the scope of content rights, the License controls.

3. API and MCP rules

  1. Keys are personal to the registered party. Do not share, resell, or transfer keys.
  2. Rate limits. Stay within posted per-key rate limits. Systematic querying designed to reconstruct a substantial part of the database is bulk extraction and is prohibited by License §4, regardless of rate-limit compliance.
  3. No circumvention. Do not bypass authentication, rate limiting, or access controls, or use multiple keys to evade limits.
  4. Attribution. Surface the attribution provided by the API when you display or cite Licensed Material.
  5. MCP operators. If you run a Beyond Wine MCP deployment, you accept these Terms on issuance of your operator key and must surface them to, and flow their restrictions down onto, your end users. You are responsible for your end users' compliance.
  6. Suspension. We may rate-limit, suspend, or revoke a key (including an MCP operator key) for breach, abuse, or security risk, with or without notice.

4. Source excerpts (evidence)

Some responses and pages include short, attributed source excerpts quoted from third-party sources as evidence for a claim. As stated in License §5, these are third-party material, not licensed by Beyond Wine. They are provided for verification and are length-limited. Your use of them is your responsibility and is governed by the rights of their original publishers.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the Content or the service to: violate law; infringe third-party rights; misrepresent Beyond Wine or any claim's confidence/verification status; or build a competing or substitute database or product in breach of License §4.

6. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms and the License and will update the version and effective date. For the website, continued use after the effective date is acceptance. For the API/MCP, acceptance is recorded per key and continued use is acceptance.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The service and Content are provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lyssa Ventures LLC disclaims all warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA; venue lies in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
