Producer

Background

Maria-Elisabeth Laimer grew up in a gastronomic family environment, where she experienced every role from dishwashing to service. Her family ran a hotel, restaurant, and in-house brewery, an entrepreneurial background that preceded her own venture into brewing.[1]

Laimer studied communication and economics in both Germany and Italy. As of April 2024 she was training to become a Sommelière. At her first examination she surprised her examiners with a presentation on non-alcoholic beer.[1]

Before co-founding FREEDL, Laimer spent periods abroad and then worked in the start-up industry. She had experience at the venture capital firm Best Nights VC prior to founding the company.[1],[2]

Role & Contribution

Within the beer industry, Laimer is one of few women, and her work focuses specifically on non-alcoholic beer.[3]
