Production Philosophy

Granith Rosé Pétillant is a sparkling rosé beverage. Granith builds its drinks by infusion and maceration of aromatic plants, blended with verjus and fruit juices, without alcoholic fermentation and without dealcoholization — the aromatic frame is assembled from plants and spices rather than extracted from a finished wine.[1]

The rosé is the third reference in the range: Granith launched with a white and a red beverage before adding it. Granith states that it tested more than 150 ingredients before launching its range, which it intends to hold its place at the table.

Composition & Vinification

The declared components are fig leaves, wild blueberries, verjus, rosemary, Muscat grape juice and rose geranium. According to Granith, the ingredients are 100% sourced from France, with 80% coming from the Drôme-Ardèche region.[2]

Fig Leaves — Main Ingredient. Hand-harvested and hand-dried fig leaves are the main ingredient of the blend.[2]

Muscat Grape Juice — Fruit Base. The Muscat grape juice comes from the Drôme Mountains.[2]

Verjus — Acidity. Verjus is part of the blend. Bertrand Michat uses verjus, a tart juice extracted from grapes that ripened imperfectly, across his non-alcoholic beverages.

Rose Geranium — Aromatic Plant. The rose geranium is sourced from the Ardèche.[2]

Tasting Profile

Appearance. Granith describes the colour as oleander-pink with a slightly coppery hue.[2]

Palate. Granith describes a palate that opens on freshly cut-grass notes, followed by Muscat grape and verjus acidity, with blueberry, strawberry, rose and geranium notes in the finish.[2]
