Provenance & Sourcing
Production. The raw materials are grown by the Tsujiki tea garden, represented by Tsujiki Yoshiharu, a fifth-generation grower working his family's own tea garden. According to Royal Blue Tea, the Tsujiki garden lies along the Uji River, where morning mist rises, with well-drained sandy soil and minimal frost.[4]
Packaging & Authentication. The wooden box is made from domestic Aizu paulownia, domestic cherry wood, and domestic ebony, crafted by artisan Hiroki Tahara of Kyoto Kiribako Kogei in Yamashina, Kyoto. Its octagonal lid closes automatically when inserted vertically into the base box, without any mechanical device. Kyoto Kiribako Kogei was founded in 1877 in Kyoto's Sakyo ward and specializes in crafting and repairing tea ceremony utensils and paulownia boxes, with its techniques passed down through three generations. Each bottle is fitted with a blockchain-based NFC tag providing authenticity verification, tamper detection, and a unique serial number.[1],[5]
