Composition & Vinification
Silver Tips — Base Leaf. Royal Darjeeling Rajah Grand is made primarily from Silver Tips, the silver-tipped new buds of the tea plant, hand-rolled into the highest-grade tea leaves. The leaf is sourced from a special reserved plot within the Makaibari Tea Estate in the Darjeeling region of West Bengal, India. It carries the grade FTGFOP-1S (Fine Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe No.1 Special).[1]
Fermentation Methodology
The tea is cultivated using biodynamic farming (バイオダイナミック農法) and harvested by hand-picking. After harvest the leaves are hand-rolled and processed (製茶) at the Makaibari Tea Estate. As a special-order product not available on the open market, the finished leaf is air-freighted directly from the estate to Japan.[2]
