Tasting Profile

Palate. FIGA describes Jasmijn as floral in character, with notes of citrus and honey and a slightly bitter undertone.[1]

Composition & Vinification

Jasmijn is described by FIGA as a green tea naturally aromatised with jasmine blossoms.[1]

Green Tea — Base. The base is a green tea, aromatised naturally rather than flavoured after the fact.[1]

Jasmine Blossoms — Aromatic. The jasmine blossoms are sourced from the Fujian province in China.[1]

Production Philosophy

That choice of base fits the house method: FIGA Kombucha specialises in single-tea kombucha, building each product around one specific tea and treating the tea as the star rather than a neutral base masked by fruits or spices. The company uses a single-fermentation approach in which the tea is the flavour from the start, instead of the more common sequence of a neutral first fermentation followed by fruit or spice additions in a second fermentation. Jasmine sits alongside Rose, Earl Grey, Milky Oolong, Hojicha, Lapsang Souchong and Matcha in the range.
