Production Philosophy
Sparkling Tea LYSERØD is one of the no & low variants in the Copenhagen Sparkling Tea Company range, positioned by the producer as an alcohol-free alternative to rosé wine. It is built on a blend of teas selected for individual character, drawing on the company's broader method of combining black, green, white, and oolong varieties sourced from specific estates. Within the company's non-alcoholic lineup, LYSERØD occupies the dry position, described alongside the floral BLÅ and, later, the citrusy LYSEGRØN created to complement both.[1]
Composition & Vinification
Declared ingredients, per the producer: green tea (23% Oolong), herbal (22% Hibiscus), white tea (16% Silver Needle), black tea leaves, grape juice, lemon juice, natural aromas, CO2, citric acid, and lactic acid — all organic.[1]
Happy Valley Oolong (23%) — Nutty, Fruity Backbone. The oolong is Happy Valley Oolong from the Happy Valley estate in Darjeeling, grown at approximately 2,100 m above sea level, and is organic. According to the producer, it combines typical oolong taste characteristics with the muscatel notes of a Darjeeling, giving a nutty and fruity taste.[1]
Hibiscus (22%) — Colour and Tart Structure. Hibiscus makes up the herbal component of the blend at 22%. The producer attributes hints of hibiscus to the beverage's dry taste.[1]
Silver Needle White Tea (16%) — Smooth, Mellow Balance. The Silver Needle white tea is grown in the mountains of Guangxi Province, southern China, at an altitude of approximately 1,000 m above sea level. It is hand-picked, harvested before the leaves fully open, with young buds still covered by fine white hairs. The producer describes it as producing a bright, clear apricot-coloured liquor with floral aromas and a smooth, mellow, lightly sweet floral aftertaste, and credits it with balancing the blend.[1]
Black Tea Leaves — Blend Component. Black tea leaves are declared among the ingredients as part of the blend.[1]
Grape Juice & Lemon Juice — Sweetness and Acidity. Grape juice and lemon juice are included among the declared organic ingredients, alongside natural aromas, citric acid, and lactic acid.[1]
